Class Info - Hunter

Well I am not the huge authority on hunters but am gonna chip in my 2c worth -

I don't go in for lots of pvp - and I decided AGAINST an 'MC' - respecc (I respecced then realised all that I'd miss so went n got old spec back ><) and th rest goes on things like Bite/Claw and some xtra armor/hp

In grps/instances - a hunter is usually at range so can see the battle pretty well, its your job to help kill mobs ofc - but also to monitor and intervene as needed - keep an eye on your healer - esp if its a priest and be ready to pull any aggro off them asap - I try and keep a freeze trap nr healer if possible - I can use pet (on growl) and distracting shot and even try disengage pet/FD and set another freeze-trap to try and help CC - FD very often resisted tho by 60+ mobs

I consider myself always a 'work in progress' - so am learning, trying, discovering as time goes by

ps - I would seriously LOVE some feedback frm a xp 60 hunter (or anyone!) - esp about respecc ><

I am putting it off as long as poss (pref forever lol) because spirit bond is such a hard thing to lose >< but....

atm I have 'average-to-okay' gear (working on improving it ofc) and good average ranged crit (with aimed shot) is around 1.3k - I know lots of good 60 hunters have a 2k crit

I'm not maxed out on agil - have chest n legs that giv me +3% crit chance tho

hoping for a decent 2nd axe (or 2 lol) and trying to save up/farm th ing for +15 agil enchant of both weaps

still using heartseeking x-bow >< til i hopefully get better frm ZG or elsewhere

I have found this specc very usefull. Very good for XP grinding and works fine in PVP too

As for pets i love my DPS/Tank STV Tiger with 1.3 in attackspeed, Claw, Great Stamina, Growl and Natural Armor other abilities seems to bad to use or waist points on.

I have tested various pets but i have always gone back to my Tiger, i would love to have a cat from Darkshore but they only exist as lvl 20-24.

Bow and 2h axe have been my weaponchoice. Guns are cool to look on but after i had fired it for 5lvls i got mad on the sound it made.

Im a Skinner/Leatherworker and i made all my armor up till lvl 45.

so ditched my traps (they aint that effective anyway in pve - would rather have mages/locks around for CC) and got intimidation (pet) which ROX! - great for grabbing aggro and got meself scatter shot and a lil imp multi/volley - so I shoot a lil better, pet grabs aggro better and I have a point blank shoot ability now - miss my improved traps (liked th hunter aoe ability heheh) - but we cant have it all and I am v much a pet-luvvin hunter so am playin th game to give me most fun and give me some decent grp utility too

Well reading your summary of hunters abilities i am impressed with your knowledge. I have been playing with Theseus since i started and i have to say compared to you i am a novice at tactics. I am still learning some of the skills from the Hunter Trainer that i didn't get whilst leveling. At the moment i only have the basic abilities at a high level (raptor strike, serpent sting, etc) and i need to increase the level of my traps and more specific shot types (concusive shot, multi shot, etc). Thanks to Enchanting i rarely have any money for buying skills, but i am 286/300 on enchanting now.

However, who needs tactics ans skills when you have a Bear like Baloo. I have used all my training points to give him Max HP and Armour giving him more HP than me. And he has Bite, Growl and Claw at the highest level (i think). Basically if Baloo turned on me at any point i would almost certainly die. And for that reason i carry a whole bag full of foods at all times. And he LOVES conjoured bread.

As you might have guessed most of my abilities are set to Beast Mastery. I also have some set in Marksmanship and none in Survival.
