Im having problems installing the gold patch to my uk version of enigma. It says 'validating patchfile', gets to 64% then says the compressed volume file is corrupt.
Ive downloaded it from 3Dgamers and filefront just incase but the result is still the same. Is there anywhere else i could try?

Do you have previous patches installed?
where did you extract it to?
run a disk check on your system (chkdsk + defrag)

Do you have previous patches installed?
The gold patch can only be installed over an unpatched retail version.
(If you have prior patches installed, reinstall from your CD and then run the gold patch.)

I was definatey installing it over a fresh version of Enigma cos i deleted my save game by mistake, DOH!
Problem solved though, i uninstalled, reinstalled and applied the patch. I'm not just saying this to save face i really did follow the instructions. If anyone else has this problem tell them to install another fresh copy of Enigma and try again.
Thanks for the suggestions.
roll on multiplayer!!

Yeah i'd completed the League and German campaigns. I love the battleships but hardly ever used them. I'm was gonna play through them again just for the hell of it so i'm not too bothered. =)
Not looking forward to Lightning's vs Milchows though >;(

I bought the gold addition, in the U.S. and installed yesterday and it seems to be running fine.
Today I downloaded enigma/enigma_pointsoft300_minipatch.zip, navigated to the enigama_english300_GPatch folder and double clicked EPatch.exe and got "bad game install" then "watch warfleet.net for details on the upcoming multplayer version."
What did i do wrong?
Thanks in advance for any assistance
Charlie

extract it to a temp dir and run EPatch (likely you need to reinstall ERT if you unzipped the patch files to the game dir)

When will Tesseraction learn to insert a readme1st text file into patch ZIPs that contains this one elementary install instruction?

I extracted the patch files to a temporary directory separate from the game.
The message I got about bad install may refer to the fact that it could not find the game's voice recognition booted up.
I figured out how to turn it off so i could use Dragon NaturallySpeaking instead.
If you know how to turn the game's voice recognition back on I might be able to do that instead of reinstall the entire game.
Thanks for your assistance.
