What are the minimum specs any of you have succeeded in running Enigma on?

My comp is a 1GHz, 127mb RAM with mainboard graphics, and I was able to run the RNE Missions, sub and surface up until the first mission the Hood appears, where the game crashes back to Desktop once the action starts. (I managed to cheese my way through the sub mission by submerging, not using the Periscope and firing torps blind, and keeping my fingers crossed. I managed to fight through the surface mission until the Hood sank the Turncoat, but the mission didn't end)

I downloaded the patches (56k, Natch ) and that seems to be the straw that broke the Camel's back. With patch 1 all the ships appeared as plain white models, and with patch t2o the comp consistently fellmover on mission start.

I'm not bemoaning the game designers or anything like that, just my own, aging computer.

Has anyone else had experiences like this?

And while we're here, can anyone recommend a good yet affordable Gfx card?

I had the UK unpatched retail running on a intel p2-400 with 256mb ram and a 32mb ati rage card, it was lagging a lot during the larger missions, but the smaller ones played fine. (this is however impossible now).

A cheap/good gfx card would be GF FX 5200 also I would say you should add atleast 128mb ram to your current 128.

800 mhz, 384mb ram, radeon 9200 128mb.

It has run with all the patches, although for the first few seconds of each game the frame rate is none-existant. Apart from that initial slowdown it runs great.

Aye, the RAM is what I'm after. Prblem is, it would mean losing one of my existing chips crazy:

oh you have 2x64megs and only 2 DIMMs?

Yeah i can see that being a problem, you prolly wants to add 1 or 2 sticks of 256megs then.

If you plan to add 512megs you should get 1 stick x 512 not 2x256 (incase you in the future wants to upgrade further
